The Parrot Place

A bird display and breeding centre, The Parrot Place is an ideal destination for animal lovers visiting the beautiful Bay of Islands region. Located in the heart of Kerikeri, The Parrot Place is home to around 300 different birds flying in from around the world. With an exciting walk-through aviary where you can interact with the colourful, loud and curious birds by letting them fly around overhead, land your head and nibble on your ear.

The Parrot Place is made up of a number of subtropical gardens to make the birds feel as comfortable as possible. Some of the highlights of the attraction include their photogenic birds and Elmo the dancing Macaw who loves to always be the centre of attention.
