Every winter, penguins off the coastline of Shoalwater, Western Australia go into lockdown mode, hanging out on the island, finding a partner and nesting their eggs. Usually, Shoalwater Islands Marine Park is not open to visitors during this time. But this year, you and your loved ones can enjoy the beauty of the penguin colony with the Penguin Island Wildlife Cruise experience as it takes you on a 60-minute scenic and wildlife cruise of the area. This 60-minute glass bottom boat cruise will take you on a journey in Western Australia waters to discover the rich wildlife of Australia. As you cruise along the rugged coastlines of Penguin, Seal & Bird Islands, expect to see majestic sea lions, pelicans, birds of prey and much more. The cruise will disembark on Penguin Island, where you can enjoy the 30-minute tour of amazing beaches, viewpoints, as well as watch the nesting seabirds in their winter environment.
Expect to see tonnes of fish and other marine life through the glass bottom boat, and dive into a delicious lunch or coffee a Pengo's Cafe before, or after, the cruise. Cruises depart daily at 10:15 am and 12:15 pm. Available only from 8 June to 14 September 2021 - so book in your tour, today!

What To Bring
- Dress warmly, the wind on the boat can be cold even in summer
- Wear a hat and sunscreen to protect you from the hot Aussie sun
- Comfortable shoes and a rain jacket are recommended for the guided walk on Penguin Island
- We recommend you bring extra drinks (especially in hot weather) and snacks if you wish
- There are no shops on Penguin Island so any extra food or drinks must be purchased before you go. Pengos Café is located on the mainland for breakfast or coffees etc. There a range of picnic style options to enjoy at Penguin Island, alternatively, your ticket allows you to use the ferry service all day so feel free to come back to the mainland for a dine in meal
