Townsville’s heritage listed gardens is the perfect setting for a relaxing day - stroll around the manicured plants and wide range of unique plant species on display. Built in 1870, Queens Gardens was originally created to trial food plants for the settlement including cocoa, mangoes and African oil palms planted in the area.
Used for local events, leisure and recreation activities the gardens are also a popular destination for weddings. Spread over 4 hectares of land, the lush green of the gardens are set against the towering Castle Hill. The gardens have an impressive range of roses, herb gardens and frangipani trees.
