The Fleurieu Peninsula's largest remaining natural vegetation, Deep Creek Conservation Park offers visitors an incredible display of wildlife and beautiful scenery. Home to some of Australia's most loved animals including Wester Grey Kangaroos and Short Beaked Echidnas, as well as around 100 different bird species that are often heard before being seen.
Offering visitors the only bush camping within a 100km radius of Adelaide, and the five campgrounds are ideal destinations for city escapes. Four of the campgrounds are easily accessible via two wheel drive cars, while the grounds located on the Heysen Trail are only accessible by foot. The park offers 15 different walking trails, each of which provide some incredible views of various local attractions including Kangaroo Island, Backstairs Passage and Deep Creek Valley. The walks range in difficulty and length, so be sure to pick the track best suited to your travel group.
