The Waitomo Walkway

Travelling along Waitomo Stream, the Waitomo Walkway encompasses some of the region's best sights and scenes. Beginning in Waitomo Village, you'll embark on the 3.3 kilometre walk through farmland and bushland and along the running stream all of the way to Ruakuri Scenic Reserve. The trail passes through a number of great sights including some limestone features, tunnels and caves.

THe track takes around an hour and 15 minutes to complete one way and is a relatively easy trail except for a few steep inclines. At times the trail continues on to private land so be sure to follow all signs and be wary of electric fences that may be present.
